Just a quick note with a picture
Have to share that I finished the 1st of the Monkey Socks!!!!! I cast-on for the 2nd one so that I'd have it started for tomorrow night's knit-in. I just love this color. My friend Jill knows me so well!.
You can't really see the pattern as well as I'd like in this picture, but it's just fantastic.
I managed to get a little stitching in tonight as well. I'm participating in the Thursday night UFO stitching from the Legacy board. I worked again tonight on Winter Garden Gate (see below). I made a bit more progress, but I'm not going to post another picture tonight. I'm way to tired. So glad that tomorrow is Friday, although I could have sworn it was just Saturday!

Monday, Monday
Have you ever had one of those days where you worked and didn't feel like you accomplished anything? That was today for me. I know that I worked at my desk all day. I could even give you a list of all the things I did. But to be honest, it doesn't feel like I accomplished much. I certainly didn't get a response from the issue/bug I opened for a program I use with my work that is keeping me from completing a project. I didn't get things completely settled for Sunday mornings services, much less start working on the graphics for the backgrounds, even though I did get a preliminary outline of the service finished. I did start some billing that needs to go out to customers, but I didn't get them finished. My desk still looks like a disaster area, but I did go through some of the papers and put them in the proper place. I guess I can't be too picky, it was Monday.
The only needle type fun I had today was late tonight when I worked a bit on my Noro purse. (I really do need to get a picture of it, since it does actually look like something.) Got a couple of more rows finished while I relaxed with a lovely glass of wine. Otherwise, it was all work and not much play for me today.
I really don't want to go into my bedroom because I piled some laundry on it before I left for class tonight, plus Monday is "sheet day" in my house so I still have to put my nice clean sheets on the bed before I can go to sleep. Should have done that before I left for class, but ran out of time.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow being a little more needle friendly. I have a meeting with a vendor tomorrow afternoon at Starbucks. I may take my Monkey socks with me just in case I get there early and have to wait for her. Then I may go to the movies with a friend after we pick out a new laptop for her. Perhaps I'll find some time to take some more pictures, this blog is looking a bit boring!

Monkey Sock progression
My dear friend Jill gave me a skein of Jitterbug for Christmas in the Jay colorway. It's not only beautiful to look at, but it's beautiful to just hold! After much holding and stroking of the yarn, I decided I'd use it to make the very popular Monkey Sock from Knitty. Started it, and was going along nicely, until I tried it on after putting the heel in. Seems 6 repeats is a little to tall for me, at least for this sock and for this yarn. So I ripped it back to the end of the 4th repeat and started the heel again. Why am I talking about this now? Because Friday night at the knit-in I pulled it out to work on it and I think, just maybe, I'm almost ready to put the toe on. I give you this as proof...I'm very excited. I love this sock pattern. I want to get this pair done so I can work on some others. I've been looking at some of the different sock yarns and there are some beautiful colors. I know that I live in Florida, but I happen to live in N. Florida, where it actually does get cold enough to wear socks, especially with clogs, which I live in during the fall and winter. Of course, it's already warm here now, but that doesn't seem to be stopping my enthusiasm for sock knitting.
Went today to pick up new sunglasses, the perscription kind. Since I'm not wearing my contacts as much as I have in the past, I decided to splurge for a new pair. I love them! Plus, it's nice to be able to actually see the street signs when I'm driving during the day.
No stitching or knitting so far today, and not likely that I'll do any since it's so late. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have some time to relax and work on something fun. I'll let you know.

I love Fridays!
I know, most everyone loves Fridays. Those of us who work a 5 day week, Monday to Friday love Fridays. It signifies that we're finally going to get a bit of a rest from the mundane of the work week. For those who don't know me, I actually work for my families small HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) business. This can come in handy at times, as it allows me to work from my home office for the most part. At other times it just means you're almost always at work. Oh well, it has allowed me to have some freedoms. Some weeks are harder then others though. And this week seemed to be one of them. I've worked with, stared at and just plained agonized over a set of plans for a commercial building the entire week. I'm so close to being done with it, and yet, it's still not done. My plan was to have it completed by 3PM today. It's 2:31PM right now and to be honest, I don't see it happening. Which only means I'll have to work on it Monday. Just so I get paid for it, I don't really care...Oh and payment will be dear, since this has been much harder then it had any right to be.
On a more positive note, the other reason I love Fridays is because it means I usually get to go and knit at my favorite local knitting store, KnitWitz. Fridays are knit-in nights and there are always fun, interesting people to talk to and laugh with. Not to mention people who help you decide on wonderful new things to purchase, I just love to enable and be enabled.
Stitching wise I did manage to stitch some last night. Worked on Moss Creek's "Winter Garden Gate". At some point this was a SAL with some friends, but I got off track. Didn't get as much done as I'd like. Worked on the 1-over-1 Assisi reindeer, or at least 1 of them. Unfortunately I didn't count well and had to rip out some of my work and redo. That always puts you behind. But I got it all fixed and it's looking nice.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

The Beginning
I've had a blog of sorts, but thought I'd try something different. So here goes.
The title of my blog has to do with my love of stitching (as in cross stitch and other such techniques) and as of a couple of years ago knitting. I also know how to crochet, but that's a hook not a needle.
I hope to share with my friends, both old and those I meet, not only my creative side, but also the craziness that is me. So, to start this off, I leave you with something that hopefully will tell you more about me. I found it very interesting how well it really does describe me.
